Shoulder Injuries & Treatment

We'll Help You Get Back To Your Normal

The shoulder is a very unique joint, and allows for a wider range of motion than any other joint in the body. Unfortunately, this makes the shoulder less stable and more susceptible to injury. The complex nature of many shoulder injuries makes it critical that you seek expert care, and you'll find this at OrthoTexas. Our team includes a number of physicians who specialize in restoring the natural movement and range of motion in the shoulder, as well as physical therapists who will work to return you to full-strength.

Rotator Cuff Injuries

The rotator cuff is essentially a group of muscles responsible for keeping your arm in your shoulder socket - with this in mind, it's easy to see why injuries to the rotator cuff can cause a major loss in mobility. These injuries typically occur due to repeated overhead movement, such as throwing a baseball or playing tennis. Since these injuries do worsen over time, it is best to seek early treatment to avoid unnecessary damage. When a tear of the rotator cuff occurs, it is usually necessary to seek surgical treatment.
